Dual monitor issue

I have FR running on my laptop and when I'm at work I have my desktop split across the laptop and an external screen with FR on the 2nd screen. If I shutdown the laptop with FR still on the 2nd screen and then later restart just the laptop without the 2nd screen attached, when I open FR the main window tries to open on the 2nd screen (which isn't attached so I can't see it). FR appears in the task bar so I can minimise/maximise it but can't actually see the program window and can't find a way to bring it back onto the primary screen, so I'm stuck without FR until I'm next in the office and can use my 2nd screen! FR is the only app that exhibits this behaviour - every other app seems to notice that there's only one screen so opens on the primary screen.

Please let me know if there's a workaround for this.

Thanks,
Tom

same here

Hi, I do have the same problem. Most windows applications check for this, if they are 'visible' on startup. It's not dificult to do (i'm mcad myself). I hope someone from FR picks this up and solves this in the next RC.
As for a work-around:
- alt-tab to RF
- atl-space to get the sys-menu
- 'm' to move
- use arrows to move the window in to view

hope this helps...

Second Monitor problem

I am experiencing the same issue on version 3.13.

Your workaround is useful except that I found another possible bug. If the window was maximized on the second monitor you cannot move the window to the first monitor. In addition, I found that the typical right-click commands found on the taskbar icon are not available [Maximize] and [Restore]. Possibly this is also symptomatic of this problem. As a further addition to your workaround, first right-click on the unused area of the taskbar and select [Tile Windows Horizontally] or [Tile Windows Vertically]. Then do your alt-tab > alt-space > 'm' to move > arrow-left > enter.

As you mentioned "most" windows apps detect the presence of the monitor and adapt. Which means others do not. I did a quick scan to see if there was last position information stored in an INI file or the registry and found nothing, so your workaround seems easiest.

Thanks,

Doug

Is nobody else suffering

Is nobody else suffering from this problem of using Feedreader on a 2nd screen but it not showing on the primary screen when the external screen isn't attached? I've had the same problem again today.

Is anyone else using FR on the secondary screen of a dual screen setup?
