I use Feedreader shortly, but I find it very slow. When I haven't checked my RSS topics for a few days, and I want to delete them at once, FR crashes. Or it takes a long time before it deletes some of the messages, and not all (while I used Cntr+A in the list).
The pro about FR is that it combines double messages, and the interface with keywords works fine, but because it's so slow I'm at a point I want to uninstall it.

If you have a lot of feeds
If you have a lot of feeds and articles..try out FR mySQL version..
also it depends on your machine of course, you maybe running a lot of other processes at the same time..
if you use smartfees add age in days in those, it will speed up the queries
