how does feedreader determine duplicate items

i publish this feed http://www.itinerarialpinistici.com/dominio/rss/RssCommenti1.asp

I used the GUID tag to disguish items. what happens is that if i change a field in item "A" than is not included in the GUID the FeedREader doesn't matter; it download 12, yes 12, duplicated item but and even not the item modified.
Nothing has changed in the GUID of those 12 items but they are download and i absolutely don't know why.

I only have to say that i don't use Pubdate tag

can anyone help me ?

this feed has correct GUID's, but I'll check for bugs. I can be a bug.

If no GUID is present in feed, then FR will calculate MD5 of article.

Problem found...non ASCII chars were used in GUID.
