Error - Internal GDS software consistency Check

I have installed Feedreader 3. I have Vista Home Edition running on my system. Before installing the newer version, Feedreader used to work ok (I used to get some errors then also but I could read news articles). However, since the time I have installed the newer version, I am getting the following error:

" A error occured in Program.
internal gds software consistency check (can't continue after bugcheck"

Feedreader completely halts after this. Moreover, I don't even understand what this means!! Can someone please help?

Please use Feedreaderbackup

Please use Feedreaderbackup to fix the database. Please make sure that you uncheck "tidy up" and then let it run.

Thanks a lot Toomas! The problem seems to be resolved.

However, request you to kindly explain the reason of the error and why unchecking "tidy up" resolves the issue.
