Ignore part of an article when deciding if article is new or not

Take a look at this feed:
http://www.fluctuat.net/blog/aeiou.xml
Strangely enough, each article end with "xx comments", the number of comments.
So each time FR checks the feed, I get a new article. I get many times the same article, ending by "3 comments", then "10 comments" then "15 comments", etc.
Is there a way to filter out the "xx comments" part, so that FR detects that the article is the same?

In other words, I would like FR to ignore a part of the article to decide if the article is new or not.

Of course, "Enable grouping of similar articles" works, but I don't like this feature as it is not smooth enough to use.

I guess the first time you recieve the article it has always "0 comments", so you could make a smartfeed where you only collect those, and in another smartfeed you collect the dups... which you can delete once in a while...

Good idea, but...

The problem is that it does not always have "0 comments" at the first check. Sometimes 0, sometimes 1, 2 or more. So I can't think of a generic rule to filter out duplicates.
