Help! :(

I am having the same problem

I am having the same problem on XP SP2. Can anybody help? Versions tried are 3.05, 3.10, 3.11 and 3.12. Maybe problems with roaming profiles and redirected application data folder?

possibly

my app data folders are redirected also, so could be that. this is driving me nuts, feedreader was my fav rss reader and i can no longer use it due to this error :(

error still exists in 3.12 - some developer help please???

Greetings, we are little bit

Greetings,

we are little bit confused, while in normal Feedreader MSDASQL.1 is not used at all. Could you try Feedreader(3.12) MYSQL edition, even without MYSQL server installed. If different error displayd, like, can't connect to localhost etc

same problem, tried mysql version

I have the same problem. And I tried Feedreader MYSQL edition. The following error appears:

Application cannot start (16). [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified.

When Feedreader is unzipped on C: I get the MSDASQL error. But if the program is executed on an network share there is another error:

Application cannot start (16). Unable to complete network request to host "server_xy". Failed to establish a connection. The system cannot find the path specified.

When coppying feadreader.ini in the program directory everything works fine as mentioned before here in the thread.

Investigating the problem with Filemon there is a "File not found" on file rssengine.fdb. This "file not found" only occurs in the error situation.

move feedreader.ini

Move feedreader.ini from your roaming profile into the feedreader install dirercory.

That fixed the problem for me.
