hi guys n gals! after i updated from 3.09 to 3.10 suddenly when ever i open feedreader the column "Title" is stretched really long so i have to resize it to fit the screen. this happens each time, can any one help?
im on vista ultimate x64
It seems to be somekind of Vista "issue" ?. I've tested FR 3.11 with WinXP SP2 and W2K no such problem...
Which screen resolution you are using?
Also could you take notepad and open feedreader.ini, it's located by default:
c:\documents and settings\[your profilename]\application data\feedreader\feedreader.ini
There are variables:
column1=
column2=
column3=
what kind of values are there
For example my FR3.11 .ini files has
column1=247
column2=170
column3=72

Thank you for this information

no problem, let me know if there's anything else i can do.
Could you check once again feedreader.ini file, are those variables present
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=344
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=160
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=703
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=300
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=321
You could change column size in FR and after that close FR. Check for values in those variables. If there are new values, then we know that Vista security is not messing with our .ini file write routines.

ok, im going to make a copy of these variables when they default back to being really wide, then ill make a copy after its been changed and FR closed. ill post them as soon as i have them. After that im going to test with FR 3.9 again as i never had this with that version, but it may have coincided with me either switching to vista x32 from XP, or vista x64 from x32.

Toomas tested FR on Vista x32 (with admin priv. user and restricted user), also no problems occured.
For us is this column issue little bit x-file ;)

ok, here it is with the problem:
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=2820
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=138
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=100
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=120
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=100
now i corrected the column width and closed it and got this:
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=564
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=138
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=100
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=120
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=100
so i reopen FR, it looks fine... close it again and reopen, the column is wide again, but not as wide as it normally goes?! Look:
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=1000
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=138
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=100
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=120
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=100
closed it and started again and now got this!!!
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=1436
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=138
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=100
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=120
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=100
same again now this:
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=1872
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=138
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=100
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=120
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=100
and again with this:
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=2308
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=138
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=100
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=120
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=100
then this:
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=3180
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=138
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=100
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=120
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=100
then this:
columnposition0=0
columnposition1=1
columnposition2=2
columnwidth2=3616
columnposition3=3
columnposition4=4
columnwidth4=138
columnposition5=5
columnwidth5=100
columnposition6=6
columnwidth6=120
columnposition7=7
columnwidth7=100
it seems to just be getting bigger and bigger, although i havent noticed this before, but then again i only usually close it and reopen it when the pc is restarted/shut down/turned on.
I am seeing exactly what you describe and I am running Win Xp Service Pack 2.
I have never run Vista on this machine.
I see the same strange resetting of columnwidth2.

http://www.feedreader.com/node/1152
latest feedreader.exe
Try to resize title column, is next(run) time again another size ?
I'm running also winxp SP2 and no such strange behavior

Yes I am running the 3rd 3.11 Beta (Oct 1, 2007).
Also I never saw this problem on 3.10, but I see it on every 3.11 Beta so far.

I have the same problem. It's annoying and I found no way to fix it.
Can you please try to
Can you please try to upgrade to 3.11beta and tell if error is still there. Also please tell us what kind of operating system you have (vista or older).
Greetings
