Precision to reproduce: the option "open article link automatically" must be set.

Toomas,
I've tried that..

Toomas,

I've tried that.. multiple times. It doesn't work. The newsbar continues to start whenever Feedreader starts, and there is no way to close it. I even went to the trouble of de-installing Feedreader and then reinstalling it. No dice - the newsbar is still there (Windows-7 installation).

I think an options setting is needed to close it cleanly, and not rely on the program automatically doing it.

Just close it down with [x]

Just close it down with [x] button. If your concern is that it will always open on startup then please try to do shutdown of Feedreader and run Feedreader again. Sometimes Feedreader may skip the settings writting if it's closed down quickly. Let it close down and everything should be fine on next startup.

Greetings
Toomas

I got feedreader working

I got feedreader working again with a surprisingly simple solution though it might not work for all. I uninstalled feedreader to reinstall it and instead of downloading feedreader installer, I downloaded the ZIP package of it, unzipped to Program Files and started it. From that moment on it has worked perfectly.

Trojan flagging

Win32:Delf-MZG [Trj]
Appears to be a legit flag to me. I was tracking a slowdown issue on my machine that cleared up after ripping feed reader 3. I love the software - use it all the time - but no more until this is cleared up.

...---...

Really? I've had 164 readers

Really? I've had 164 readers and nobody knows how to increase the font size in the name, title, and date so I can see them? Is it time to switch to a different reader?

152 channels
archive size

152 channels
archive size 300 articles
now the file size is 177 MB
I can understand that the file size could be big but cleaning the database is not reducing any bit of it.
