I am not a developer myself, and not part of the FR team, I am just an individual user of FR with a few ideas about how to improve FR. I am glad to see that some of new ideas in this forum have been implemented in version 3.13, but this is only a tiny fraction of all suggestions made in this forum. My general feeling is that FR development team has been kind of slow to implement improvements in FR, or even to answer posts in this forum. Some of the users may also be programmers. So my gut feeling is that making FR open source may benefit the speed of development, as new ideas may be implemented and tested more quickly.
