did I understand correctly, after clean install FR just "hangs" - when you are importing feeds from opml, or just adding manually.
I'll wait for additional bug description.

also if i start with a new DB (thought you changed) you know the DB is quite clean ;-)

this never happend before 3.12

we are not using new database, we just upgraded FB library and fixed some internal bugs, that affected performance.

I recommend to run FeedReader Backup Utility. Also optimal feed count for (free) FR is up to 200. Ok, I have about 600:)))

But if "bug" occurs, we need very detailed information.
Without this information we can't help you !
Also provide computer params, op.system etc.

First, if you are using notification, turn them off, then select from tools->options: Advanced page, check add additional performance.

i have upgraded to the new database, hoping this will solve my problems...but "This is about performance and avoiding potential hangs" makes no difference to me

everything going smooth and fast and then for no reason FR stops responding (CPU up to 100 %) so i have to kill it :-(

Hi!

We released alpha version of Feedreader 3.12 again. THIS IS NOT A PRODUCTION RELEASE. PLEASE DO NOT MIRROR IT. IT'S JUST FOR TESTING.

What has changed:

Internal database changes. This is about performance and avoiding potential hangs.
New experimental feature "Quick Add Tag". If you are a person who constantly tags articles you may find it interesting. Feedreader tracks all your added tags and makes them available in Quick Add Tag submenu in articles listing popup menu. Now you just have to select a tag from this submenu and it will be added to article.
Experimental "PAGER" feature. Basically if all articles do not get shown on opening some feed or folder then there will appear buttons that let you see also older articles and so on. Look of this feature is quite ugly at the moment but you can still try it out. If everything works well then we will make default viewcount smaller (from 1000 to 500). This makes Feedreader quite a lot more responsive.
